NATIONAL RESCUE RIDE ROCKS ON!

Horse lovers from across the country are stampeding to join the National Rescue Ride on October 19, 2008. Fifty charities from more than 40 states have answered the call to help raise funds and awareness for unwanted, neglected and abused horses in the United States

Similar to a walkathon, the NRR will bring together thousands of riders and walkers across the country to make a difference. Rider/walker registration is already trotting along to make history for the first national equine effort to help America’s charities help horses.

Charities not yet registered can go to www.nationalrescueride.org and sign on as a participant and beneficiary. Riders and walkers should go to the site, register and choose the charity they want to support. They can find a ride in their area and help raise money by signing up sponsors to support their efforts. In addition to receiving an NRR T-shirt riders/walkers are eligible for prizes for raising the most funds as individuals, or as a club.  All funds raised will go directly to the registered organization they choose. Many charities are adding to the day with post ride activities to thank their supporters and celebrate a great day!

So on October 19, in the saddle or in your sneakers, join us to help America’s abused, neglected and unwanted horses by being a part of the National Rescue Ride! And remember most of these charities have beautiful horses looking for a great place to call home. It’s all part of helping America’s horses!
