Dr. Suzanne Myers

Maybe you've recently heard about Dr. Suzanne Myers being the first female winner of a Mustang Challenge?  In April, 2008 Suzanne traveled to Madison, Wisconsin to compete against 50 other horse trainers from across the country to demonstrate how well she had trained a wild, never been touched mustang in just 90 Days!  After two days of preliminary events the team made the freestyle finals and in front of a standing room only house, Suzanne and her mustang Jazz won it all!   Dr. Suzanne Myers has been described as intelligent, driven to succeed, possessing unique experiences and knowledge in equine training and behavior, an excellent teacher with personality and down to your level presentations;  a unique mix of brains, brawn, and bravado, a tough competitor, a proven champion, but, always an advocate for the horse.  Her education, training methods, and equine related accomplishments confirm these descriptions to be true and she is coming to your show to share her experiences with you.  In April 2010 she will be an invited clinician at the Hoosier Horse Fair and Expo and will de-mystify the 'secrets' to maximizing both partnership and performance for you and your horse in a series of clinics she'll perform.

From colt starting to finish work, from racing thoroughbreds to gentling and training wild mustangs and other feral breeds, Dr. Suzanne Myers has over 20 years of professional experience training horses.  She grew up in rural Pennsylvania on a family farm where she parlayed her not-so-unique early history with horses into a very successful career as a trainer by capturing the essence of what the horses taught her.  Suzanne believes in the principles of continuing education and embeds that concept into her training program at Next Level HorsemanshipTM  in Port Matilda, PA.  "Training horses and educating people on what it means to practice horsemanship is what we do best" she emphasizes. "To have true horsemanship you have to maximize both partnership and performance".  Her Next Level HorsemanshipTM (NLH) program places a strong emphasis on holistic horsemanship through the development of the handler's timing, feel, and balance, and accentuating the horse's responsiveness to its rider through combined methods in natural horsemanship and classical dressage.  Suzanne also holds a Bachelor’s degree in Animal Production, a Master’s degree in Pathobiology, and a Doctorate degree in Veterinary Science from the Pennsylvania State University.  She has worked extensively in applied diagnostics and research at the University’s Animal Diagnostic Laboratory and conducts non-invasive research in equine immunology and infectious disease.  With combined experience in academia and horsemanship Suzanne brings a unique perspective to her clinics and presentations, and enjoys helping people realize their horsemanship goals as well as to understand often confusing management and scientific information important to equine owners.

The McNabb Family

A true blue American cowboy with a boyish enthusiasm for life and strong family values, Ken McNabb grew up in a traditional ranching family in the mountains of Wyoming . This modern day Roy Rogers knew from a young age that he wanted to help others. As a boy he was unsure of how he would achieve this, but it became crystal clear when he was 16 years old. Sitting in the audience at a horsemanship clinic, he knew within the first fifteen minutes that horsemanship and teaching was his calling.

Since then he has been changing people's lives through his weekly television show, instruction of clinics nationwide and special appearances at large expos. He still carries with him the passion and conviction he had as a young boy. Living his life on horseback has proven to be the ultimate way for McNabb to reach out to people and their horses.

Ken creates a unique environment where each horse is trained using gentle methods and the rider is coached to become their personal best. Ken's faith in Christ, along with his commitment to strong family values and patriotism, help make him the kind of speaker/trainer people enjoy.

In 2007, Ken competed in and won the Colt Starting Challenge at the Mane Event Expo in Vancouver , WA . In 2008, he competed at the prestigious Road to the Horse competition in Murfreesboro , TN against Chris Cox, Tommy Garland and Mike Kevil. In typical Ken McNabb style he won over spectators with his good natured approach and ability to develop a very aggressive colt into a willing partner. In October of 2008, Ken won the Trainers Challenge Colt Starting Competition in Chilliwack , BC Canada , beating out Charles Wilhelm and three time champion, Doug Mills, from Canada .

Together, Ken, his wife DeeDee, and their two young sons Kurt and Trent live near Cody , Wyoming where they are dedicated as a family to teaching others to dream bigger, ride taller and live happier.

Lendon Gray

As a toddler in Maine, Lendon Gray was riding a horse with her mother before she could walk.  She grew up riding western, hunt seat, bareback, playing gymkhana games, driving and generally having fun riding and caring for horses.  Pony Club played the central role in her life from age 7 through her twenties.

During that time she also trained with the Olympic Three Day Team. At 27 Lendon started to specialize in Dressage and at the same time Seldom Seen the first of her famous Dressage "ponies" came into her life.

At 14.2 plus he was national champion at 3rd, 4th level, Prix St. George's, Intermediare 1 and 2, and Grand Prix. Although Lendon rode warmbloods in her two Olympics, the world Championships, and the World Cup her ponies held a special place in her heart.  They proved to the world the bigger isn't necessarily better.

This experience also gave Lendon direction to encourage those without the fanciest horses, trainers, greatest opportunities to be "the best that you can be".  Now while running Gleneden Dressage, a stable with 52 horses under her supervision, Lendon is extremely active with the USET, AHSA, USDF.

Her greatest energies go to trying to develop all riders, but juniors especially, to learn correct basics and become all-round horseman.
